We have lived on our smallholding for eight years gradually developing the property over the years. We run a small livery yard and keep a number of different animals including a small flock of sheep and goats, chickens and pigs. We also take a hay crop from our meadows which brings in just under a thousand bales a year. We have three children all of whom love the great outdoors and all the benefits that living on a small farm brings. We have two dogs of our own, Hector who is an English Pointer and Raisen who is a French Pointer. We love working with our animals and giving them the benefit of living good natural lives and being well looked after.
We decided to start Boggs Dogs after putting our own dogs into kennels. We found the traditional kennel setting to be intimidating and noisy. They clearly did not enjoy the experience and came back underweight and withdrawn. Our friends often remarked what a perfect setting we had for our own animals and so we put two and two together and started offering to have friends dogs to stay whilst they went on holiday and the business has grown naturally from there.
